SITU, the Smart Food Nutrition Scale

SITU (UK) - SITU is the simple Bluetooth food scale that talks to your iPad. It weighs your food in calories and nutrients in addition to grams and ounces. SITU shows you the nutrition content of any food you place on it, whether it’s a single item or an entire meal. For the first time people can see the exact calories, sugar, salt, protein, vitamins and minerals of any food they are about to eat based on that food’s weight.

SITU is a learning tool for calorie counters, diabetics, hypertensives, athletes, and anyone who wants to lead a healthier life. SITU enables people to reach their health goals by empowering them to act on information they never had an easy way of accessing before.

Last year SITU raised $68,000 on Kickstarter in just one month.

SITU was invented by Michael Grothaus, a former Apple employee and technology journalist who struggled for years to lose weight. He knew cooking fresh foods at home was the best way to eat, but like everyone, soon realized that people naturally underes4mate how many calories are in those foods. He needed a solu4on, so he teamed up with his business partner Jose Farinha to bring SITU to life. Michael has lost 80 pounds using SITU.
