More about:

This agreement was made a few years after the Titanic disaster in 1912. This agreement is made to ensure the lifes of people who work at sea. The agreement prescribed the amount of lifeboats, safety procedures and other emergency equipment.

To increase peoples' safety the containers need to be weighed before they will be allowed on board. In the past the official weight was not corresponding with the registered weight. This caused a lot of damage to ships, containers and most important people.

The weighing of the containers can be done by two different and approved methods. One method is to measure the total weight of the sea container in an empty and in a full condition. Another method to determine the weight of a seacontainer is to count the individual weight of the products inside of the container and add the weight of the packaging material.
